Karl Strauss - Tower 10 IPA
An IPA with a 6.5% alcohol content by volume. I was astonished by the initial smell. I could smell so many differnt types of hops that have been included in this beer. It has a floral citrus aroma. This was stated on their website and I totally agree with it. It smelled wonderful. It had a very pleasant bitterness taste to it. It is a very balanced beer. It was very smooth. I liked it a lot. The flavor in this brew is massive. This is one of my favorite tasting beers I’ve tasted so far. It has a nice level of carbonation. Not too strong and not too mild. This beer is enjoyable from start to finish. I would recommend it to everyone. This is a must try. I had just worked out before I tasted this. The feel to me was a nice cold and refreshing beverage that revitilized my body.

Napa Smith Lost Dog Red Ale
The Lost Dog Red Ale is 7.2% alcohol content by volume. My initial sniff smell had a combination of sweet and citrus aroma. It had sort of a caramel malt taste to it. I could feel as though it had various types of spices but it was very light. The hops were on the the light side of the bitterness spectrum. After tasting it a bit more it had sort of a biscuit taste to it. The feel of the beer seemed to be from the outdoors but I couldn’t grasp the taste of the main ingredients. It really stumped me, this might be because I’m quite inexperienced. The carbonation was lacking but could be ideal for the type of beer style.  My overall impression of this beer is average. I would say try it out and “celebrate life and the Napa experience.”

Longboard Island Lager
Brewed by Kona Brewing company in Hawaii since 1994. Initial sniff was basically the smell of any other pedestrian lager. It poured a bland yellow, not really a golden color like other lagers. There is an aroma of lemongrass but I could not tell what the other part of it was. There was a feel of grassy hops in this particular brew. The bitterness was not too punchy. It was more on the weaker side. This has a bit more flavor than your typical Bud/Miller. It was quite refreshing but nothing spectacular. There was nothing particularly impressive with this brew but it is a nice ending to a long day.  I would definitely get a 6-pack of these to share with a couple of buddies.

Hair of the Dog - Ruth - American Pale Ale
Hair of the Dog brewing company was established in 1993. 4.5% Alcohol content by weight. I always do a sniff before I taste something new. The initial scent of this beer is very sweet smelling with the typical pale ale aroma. As I took the first gulp this beer filled me up with a variety of different flavors and a unique punch of carbonation. It seems as though there is a mix of citrus hops. There was a light feel in my mouth and was on the smoother side. The bitterness was not as harsh but definitively there. I can taste a bit of apple, apricot and a touch of honey. Overall it had a nice mixture of hops that worked well with each other. The Organic Pilsner malt compliments the hops very nicely. I would recommend this to people who like a light and pleasant APA.
